Ai Chi Ne Partner Work
Featuring Ruth Sova
Tuesday October 20, 2026
2:00 - 4:00pm Eastern Time (Miami/New York)
CEC/CEUs: AEA/ATRI 2.0

This course goes beyond exercise and into human connection, therapeutic touch, balance confidence, body awareness, and movement communication. We’ll easily cover the neuroscience of connection in movement because that's what makes Ai Chi Ne different. Most courses teach movement. This course teaches how movement, breath, touch, trust, and sensory input work together to improve function and well-being.

Ai Chi Ne (Ne meaning "two" in Japanese) uses partner interaction, shared movement, synchronized breathing, therapeutic touch, and enhanced body awareness to improve health and function. Partnering with another individual can create opportunities for improved balance, movement confidence, postural control, kinesthetic awareness, and emotional well-being. Using different levels of support can facilitate improved stability, mobility, flexibility, coordination, and functional movement.

This course has benefits for older adults, ortho and neuro issues, balance deficits, developmental challenges, chronic conditions, trauma histories, and those seeking enhanced body awareness and confidence in movement.

Applicable to aquatic therapists, rehabilitation professionals, fitness specialists, and aquatic practitioners, this course provides practical tools for creating meaningful movement experiences that support physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Objectives

  1. Describe the principles and philosophy of Ai Chi Ne partner work.
  2. Explain the therapeutic benefits of touch, movement synchronization, and shared breathing.
  3. Demonstrate safe partner positioning and movement transitions.
  4. Apply Ai Chi Ne techniques to improve kinesthetic awareness, postural control, and body alignment.
  5. Integrate flexibility, core stability, balance, and coordinated movement within partner activities.
  6. Utilize rotational, turning, weight-shifting, weight-bearing, and head-turning activities to challenge balance and functional movement skills.
