Neuromuscular Retraining with Ruth Sova
Tuesday, August 13 - 2:00 - 4:00pm Eastern Time (Miami, New York)
Change random, flailing actions into intentional core activation and purposeful movement of the extremities. Explore the Heavy Concept and other ideas to re-educate neuromuscular patterns so that movement is intentional instead of random. Teach proper sequential muscle recruitment and guide clients to initiate movement from the inner core outward. These concepts can be applied to UE or LE, proximally or distally placed body segments, and core. Neuromuscular retraining has been successfully applied to pain, balance, ortho, and some neuro (requires cognition) conditions; clients must have some kinesthetic and body awareness. When functional movement is initiated from the core clients can achieve proper biomechanics and coordination of extremity movements. Functional movement is what we want, and this course will help!
