Top 10 Glute Medius Strengthening Ideas (AWS)
Beth Scalone
The glute medius is the main muscle responsible for hip abduction, also aiding in rotation. Functionally, it is crucial for stabilizing the pelvis. When this muscle goes on vacation, it can lead to all sorts of lower body drama and back pain woes. Discover aquatic exercise progressions for strengthening the glute medius, ranging from basic to functionally complex movements.
Low Intensity Interval Training Integrations (LEC)
Lori Sherlock
Join Lori A. Sherlock, Ed.D., for an insightful session on Low Intensity Interval Training (LIIT). This class focuses on using low-intensity intervals to enhance recovery during transition phases of training. Learn how to apply periodization principles and Seyle’s General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS) to improve performance while minimizing injury risks. The workout features dynamic intervals and mobility drills to support effective recovery. Ideal for those looking to refine their recovery strategies and boost overall performance.
Take 20 (LAB)
Jackei Lebeau
Join Jackie for a discussion on how providing stretch breaks for corporate wellness, collegiate writing workshops, team building, and personal practice improves our concentration and focus. Take 20 (minutes that is!) to move, lengthen, and breathe through a guided stretch sequence and see for yourself how beneficial a short break can be to increase focus and productivity for the remainder of the afternoon.
Journey from Rehab to Fitness (LEC)
Kimberly Huff
The continuation of an appropriately designed exercise program is an important component of the rehab discharge plan, but home exercise is often not followed. Supervision of a fitness professional or participation in group fitness may improve adherence. Learn tips for incorporating and progressing home exercise programs to help clients continue their journey.
Mindful Moments for Arthritis (LAB)
Donna Lewen
Breaking the chronic pain cycle is an essential component to AEA Arthritis Foundation Exercise Programs. Discover ways to enhance the healing experience. Mindful moments allow the brain to enter the alpha brainwave state. Tension and relaxation, full relaxing breaths, and visualizing heavy and light techniques gently guide the body into the benefits of deep restorative rest.
